Adenium Obesum, commonly known as Desert Rose, is a succulent shrub native to Africa and the Middle East. This species grows between 0.12 and 5 meters tall, featuring thick, disproportionate pachycaul stems and a swollen basal caudex that projects from the soil. Its leathery, spirally arranged leaves cluster near the shoot tips and measure 5–15 cm long and 1–8 cm wide. The plant produces tubular flowers 2–5 cm long, prized for their vibrant colors and unique form, making it a favored choice for bonsai and ornamental houseplants. It may be evergreen or drought-deciduous, shedding leaves during cold spells or depending on cultivar variations.

Here are some care tips to help you keep your Adenium Obesum healthy and thriving:

Light:   Prefers bright, indirect sunlight. It can tolerate some direct sunlight, but too much can scorch the leaves. In low light conditions, it may not flower.

Water:   Drought-tolerant and should be watered sparingly. Allow the soil to dry out almost completely between watering. Overwatering can cause root rot and kill the plant.

Soil:   Prefers a well-draining soil mix that is sandy and porous. You can use a cactus or succulent mix to provide the proper drainage.

Fertilizer: Should be fertilized sparingly, using a balanced fertilizer with low nitrogen content. Over-fertilizing can cause leaf burn and damage the roots.

Pruning: Can be pruned to control its shape and size. It is best to prune during the active growing season.

Propagation:  Propagate through stem cuttings or by grafting. Stem cuttings should be allowed to dry for a few days before being planted in well-draining soil mix.

Pests:   May prone to mealybugs and scale insects. Inspect the plant regularly and treat any pests promptly with an appropriate insecticide.

Temperature:   Prefers warm temperatures between 65-85°F (18-29°C) and can be damaged by frost.

The Chamaerops humilis, commonly known as the Dwarf Fan Palm, is a bushy, evergreen palm native to the Mediterranean region. It typically forms a medium-sized, multi-stemmed shrub with fan-shaped leaves up to 45 cm long. Belonging to the Arecaceae family, this species features erect stems and deeply segmented, rounded foliage. Its understated flowers emerge from lower leaf axils, leading to small, date-like fruits. Ideal for Mediterranean-style gardens, it adds architectural interest with its compact, textured growth habit and year-round greenery.

It matures into a very tall and very upright bamboo with true giant proportions. Although it has a clumping rhizome system the culms grow well spaced and will grow a grove of thick canes with prominent nodes making it a truly distinct bamboo.

This plant is best planted in isolation i.e. as a large lawn specimen where it's giant proportions can be shown off.
