The Phyllostachys Decora (or Mannii) is known as the 'beautiful bamboo' and is deserving of this name.

This is a very vertical bamboo and the culms are generally pale green but can have tints of orange / yellow in the sun. It has a mass of short drooping leaves which is held high by the strong upright culms. Possibly the most decorative element of this bamboo is the green and cream striped culm sheaths which are tinted around the edge with a rich purple.

The decora is best grown as a solitary speciman to appreciate its beauty.
