This is an excellent Bamboo if you are looking for height and structure in your garden but are limited for space. This is a very well behaved plant which is tight clumping and very quick to mature.
The new canes of this bamboo variety grow up vertically, as straight as arrows, becoming more purple the older that they are. This plant distinguishes from the Phyllostachys species by producing more branches per node over the years.
Due to its behaviour we have heard this plant being referred to as the 'Noble Bamboo'.
