The Phyllostachys Viridiglaucescens bamboo is an ideal bamboo for the impatient gardener who wants quick impact.

This bamboo will mature quickly producing masses of culms each season (even in cold climates) thus making it an ideal screen.

The new culms have a light coloured sheaths with a dark purple tinge. The leaves of this bamboo can often have small hairs and have a notable blue-green shading on the underside.

It is worth noting that this bamboo is not happy in poorly nourished soil conditions. However, a good mulch each year and the occassional feed should reward you well.
