Phyllostachys Nigra 'Henonis'

henonis.jpg

A sub form of the Phyllostachys Nigra - undoubtedly the largest of the species

Origin: China / Taiwan

Height: 8 metres

Hardiness: - 26 degrees celcius; Zone 5b

Exposure: Sun or Light Shade

Use: Excellent Specimen, Screen or Windbreak

This is the hardiest and largest of the Phyllostachys Nigra sub species. However, despite how large it can grow it is remarkably well behaved and easily looked after. New canes will emerge green but will slowly take a yellow/green tinge with maturity.

The 'Henonis' can be used as a singular specimen plant or will happily grow as part of a hedge or windbreak.
