The Phyllostachys Nigra 'Boryana' is a sub form of the Phyllostachys Nigra. In the correct environment 'Boryana' can grow much taller & wider than the Nigra. Canes can vary in diameter but some have been known to achieve an eventual diameter of 10cm. When new canes first appear they are green but will soon have brown/purplish black spots by the end of the first season.
