The Phyllostachys Aureosulcata Spectabilis (or f. Spectabilis) is one of our favourites - it is impossible to convey the true beauty of a specimen plant into words.
This bamboo plant combines exceptional hardiness with blinding loveliness. The canes are a yellow ochre colour with alternating dark green grooves. However, this is not the unusual feature of the canes when you compare it to the frequent zigzag feature in the mature canes.
The leaves are quite small with a slight variegation and a duller underside that can offer a two tone effect when fluttering in a breeze.
