Fargesia Murielae is known as the Umbrella Bamboo due to its dense mass of arching culms that form the umbrella shape. The culms are slow to spread, eventually forming a stout column base to support its top heavy mass of foliage. Culms emerge dark green in colour but eventually turn to an olive yellow colour with maturity.
This plant is a choice ornamental and can be grown in a variety of situations, but can also be grown in containers due to its tolerance of extreme cold temperatures.
