In its native China this is the staple diet of the Giant Panda (no problems here though!).

This plant is slightly less vigorous than other Fargesia varieties but is nonetheless valued as an attractive plant owing to its culm which can turn red or reddish black when exposed to sun.

A fan shape is often achieved with the Denudata as it tends to grow from a tight clump at the base arching out approx 3 - 4 times more spread as it matures.

Plant this as a solitary plant or as a medium height screen or dense hedge.
